9:30 am, 15 Spots Available
A 2-3 hour walk where participants will visit and explore the different ecosystems and plant biodiversity protected by the Creek 53 Conservancy Trust. The walk will focus on seeking out spring ephemeral plants and learning about the forest ecology of the region. The walk will be led by Dr. Frieda Beauregard, a botanist who grew up in this area and the curator for the McGill University Herbarium.
A reminder that this is not a walk on groomed recreational trails through the woods. Some wet patches, elevation changes, and some rough uneven terrain will be encountered along the way. Note also that depending on interest and conditions, the walk could go beyond 3 hours but we will for sure be out of the woods by nightfall!
Please note: Portions of the walk may be moderately challenging; appropriate clothing and footwear are essential.
